Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all orders placed with Ayana Creations (“we”, “us”, “our”), a handcrafted gift and event styling studio based in Blantyre, Malawi. By placing an order or booking a consultation you agree to the terms below.

1. Orders and quotations

All quotations are valid for 14 days from the date issued. An order is confirmed once you have approved the design proof and paid the required deposit. Prices are quoted in Malawian Kwacha unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Payment

A deposit of 50% is required before production begins. The remaining balance is due before delivery or collection. For event styling, full payment is due no later than seven days before the event date.

3. Design proofs and approval

We will share a digital proof of your personalised item before cutting or engraving. It is your responsibility to check all spelling, dates, names and layout carefully. Once you approve a proof, we produce exactly what was approved, and we cannot accept returns for errors that were present in an approved proof.

4. Production and delivery timelines

Standard production takes 5 to 7 working days for single gifts, and 3 to 4 weeks for weddings and larger event orders. Timelines begin from the date of proof approval and deposit payment. Delivery dates are estimates; we are not liable for delays caused by couriers, load shedding, material shortages or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

5. Handmade variation

Our products are made by hand from natural wood. Variations in grain, colour and finish are inherent to the material and are not defects. Photographs on our website are representative; slight differences in the final piece are normal.

6. Cancellations, returns and refunds

Because personalised items are made specifically for you, they cannot be resold and are non-refundable once production has begun. If you cancel before production starts, your deposit may be refunded less any design work already completed. If an item arrives damaged or differs materially from the approved proof, contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photographs and we will repair, remake or refund it at our discretion.

7. Event styling

Event bookings are secured by deposit and are date-specific. Cancellations made more than 30 days before the event receive a refund of any amount paid above the deposit. Cancellations within 30 days of the event are non-refundable, as the date is held exclusively for you. Hired decor items remain our property and must be returned in the condition supplied; damage or loss will be charged at replacement cost.

8. Intellectual property

You confirm that you have the right to use any photograph, logo, artwork or text you supply to us. Designs we create remain our intellectual property, and we may photograph completed work for our portfolio and social media. If you would prefer your item not to be shown publicly, tell us in writing and we will respect that.

9. Liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malawi.
